Angelo Maineri binds bodies in steel, cement and wood; seemingly weightless and yet grounded, the bodies of steel stelae and tree trunks twist and turn. A maestro of sculpture and responsible for the care and maintenance of the sculpture garden since 2016, Daniel Spoerri invited his assistant to install one of his own works in the garden. Maineri – like Spoerri – is a great expert in classical art and literature and his (Italian) description of his work presents a combative tone; humans, destroying nature, are yet dependent upon it and cannot escape it.
