Born 20th July, 1932 in Seoul (Korea). He lived in New York and died in Florida in 2006.
Paik was one of the leading representatives of Fluxus and video-art (since 1963); his multi-monitor-installations are famous. His tribute to the »Giardino«is based on an instruction given to Daniel Spoerri in his absence. Being asked to think about a work of art for Spoerri´s garden, Nam June Paik answered: »Tell him to make something as big as the Eiffel-Tower!« – When he received this message Spoerri interpreted it his way.
