iron
Daniel Spoerri had long wanted an iron sculpture by his Swiss friend for the Giardino. Finally, Luginbühl presented his generous gift: an experienced team (Luginbühl’s sons) just needed a few hours to construct the pre-prepared pieces. The monument comprises ploughs and parts of agricultural machines – symbols of power – and it is not over-interpreting to see in its exaggerated verticality a symbol of fertility. The signature of the »Peasant Monument« is located on a clamp on a cog at the bottom left.
