This old tree, probably split by lightening and marked with large gouged surface areas immediately drew his attention. He saw in its division the symbolic representation of Adam and Eve: two parts from one trunk. He quickly, even with a delicate touch, reacted to this form and, the only addition he made to this work, had the rough surface areas covered in gold leaf.
