According to the artist, her seated group of escalator steps invites visitors to partake in the kind of relaxed contact that is not usually possible in city life, for which the escalator may stand as a symbol. The artist plays with the relationship of mobility and stability and comments with amusement: »It seems that even an escalator is capable of relaxing.«
