Dani Karavan has a special relationship to olive trees and has frequently included them in his works. This old tree, probably split by lightening and marked with large gouged surface areas immediately drew his attention. He saw in its division the symbolic representation of Adam and Eve: two parts from one trunk. He quickly, even with a delicate touch, reacted to this form and, the only addition he made to this work, had the rough surface areas covered in gold leaf.
