It’s easy to trip over »Little Switzerland«. If the grass grows too high, it can’t be seen. Martin Schwarz, who likes to subvert habits and question things that are too familiar, comments ironically on national pride with his diminutive sculpture and at the same time he relies on it. And indeed: Swiss by choice, Daniel Spoerri can recognise the contours of ‘his’ country immediately. He had the plaster sculpture cast in bronze for the Giardino so that it could lie outside safely.
