On Oct. 27, 1960 Yves Klein, Arman, Dufrene, Raymond Hains, Jacques Villeglé, Jean Tinguely and Daniel Spoerri signed a statement written by Pierre Restany, the Manifesto of the “Nouveau Réalisme”, as a description of art after the downfall of the panel painting, which presented truth as it is and not as its image.
